Thanh Hoa (VNA) – Police of the central province of Thanh Hoa has issued a wanted notice for a 27-year-old man accused of “attempting to overthrow the people’s administration”.

Police said when studying at Hong Duc University, Nguyen Van Trang, who resides in Thanh Loc commune of Hau Loc district, had repeatedly violated the school’s regulations and made extreme statements.

After he was expelled from the university, Trang took part in the “Hoi anh em dan chu” (Brotherhood for Democracy), a reactionary organisation involved in illegal activities aiming to eliminate the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and overthrow the people’s administration.

He often used his Facebook account under the name Trang Nguyen (Vo Danh Khach) to post stories, images and video clips that distorted the Party and State’s guidelines and policies, slandered the political regime and incited other people to join demonstrations or cause public disorder.

On November 27, Thanh Hoa police launched criminal proceedings against Trang over the charge of “attempting to overthrow the people’s administration”.

As Trang has not stayed in the locality recently, the police has put him on the wanted list. –VNA
