After just 2 days, Hanoi has stopped checking travel documents that were stamped by People's Committees of wards and communes. That decision brings in positive changes at the capital's checkpoints.

As noted by our reporters, on the morning of August 12, there were no longer congestions and crowds at checkpoints like the previous days.

The authority checks travel documents quickly. Checkpoints are more clear and open than before.

At various checkpoints in "gateway" areas to the city center such as Kim Ma and Nguyen Chi Thanh streets, 100% of motorbikes must stop to check for travel documents. The authority only checks cars randomly depending on the flow of traffic.

At the Nguyen Chi Thanh checkpoint, the authority has arranged a loudspeaker to guide people to prepare documents from afar. This is to avoid traffic jams so that all vehicles can pass through the checkpoint smoothly./.
