At 11:25 a.m. on March 8, flight VN88 of Vietnam Airlines carrying 287 Vietnamese landed safely at Noi Bai airport after departing from Bucharest (Romania).

After a journey of nearly 11 hours, these are the first Vietnamese citizens to return home due to the complicated situation in Ukraine.

Direct flight to Ukraine is not possible because it is a war zone, so Vietnam Airlines has built many flight plans to neighboring countries of Ukraine. Romania is one of the plans.

Vietnam Airlines uses a crew of 25 highly experienced people to operate the flight to repatriate citizens.

Their plane stopped at Bucharest airport for about 3 hours to pick up citizens and do technical checking and refueling tasks before returning to the homeland.

The leader of Noi Bai International Airport said that he has actively developed a detailed plan and flowchart for rescue flights carrying Vietnamese citizens from Ukraine back home.

Upon their return, passengers and crew will be put under medical quarantine before carrying out immigration procedures.

If any passengers contract COVID-19, they will be subject to a procedure of the International Health Quarantine Center

Passengers who don't get infected with COVID-19 will continue to go through immigration procedures and then pick up their pieces of luggage at the conveyor belt. After completing custom procedures, they will leave the terminal./.
