Tranh Khuc village has long been famous for making chung cake. At the end of the year, every house is filled with dong leaves, glutinous rice, and pork in the house.

There are 120 households in Tranh Khuc village that are making chung cakes for sale. When it comes to Tet, all households put aside all their work just to make cakes. The peak of chung cake season begins on the 10th day of the 12th lunar month and lasts until the end of January next year.

This year, the COVID-19 epidemic has negatively affected the demand and market for the chung cake. Therefore, the villagers of Tranh Khuc also reduced the number of cakes they can make compared to last year.

Chung cakes of Tranh Khuc village are sold everywhere, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. The Tranh Khuc people make chung cake all year round. They don't do retail business. Instead, they deliver all their cake to shops and supermarkets. During Tet, the number of cakes produced by the village increases many times. Some families make nearly 2,000 cakes per day./.
