Theory Council convenes fifth session

The fifth session of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC)’s Theory Council opened in Hanoi on September 5 under the chair of the council’s head Dinh The Huynh.

During the two-day session, council members discuss draft reports on the basic and comprehensive renovation of Vietnam’s education and training, and the scientific and technologicaldevelopment for industrialisation, modernisation and internationalintegration.

Several theoretical and practical issues for improving the efficiency of State-owned enterprises are also put on table.

Speaking at the event, Huynh, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPVCC and head of its Commission for Popularisation and Education, urged the participants to clarify the role and position of the State sector in a socialist-oriented market economy.

He also asked the council todefine urgent tasks and breakthroughs in renovating perceptions oneducation and training as well as building and perfecting managementmechanisms in this field.

Regarding scienceand technology, the council should clarify new viewpoints andperceptions as well as put forth the main contents of renovation ofmechanisms, policies and implementation methods, Huynh said./VNA
