The event gathered 250 staff from the embassies of ASEAN countries as well as representatives of Australia, Japan and the Republic of Korea..
According to Brunei Ambassador Tuan Yang Terutama Haji Awang SaifulBahri Haji Awang Mansor, ASEAN Gala Night is part of the joint efforts to build the ASEAN Community in 2015.
The activity should be held regularly as a tradition of ASEAN embassies in Singapore, he added.
Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Hai Hau said the ASEAN Gala Night offered a good chance to boost mutual understanding between the association’s member states.
The event was initiated by the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore in 2010, the year Vietnam chaired ASEAN.-VNA
