Three Vietnamese athletes have qualified to compete in the 2016 World U20 Championships in Athletics slated for Poland in July.

They are Le Tu Chinh in the women’s 200m event, Nguyen Truc Mai in the women’s long jump event, and Khuat Phuong Anh in the women’s 400m hurdles.
The three won gold medals at the 17th Asian Junior Athletics 2016 tournament that recently wrapped up in Ho Chi Minh City.
In particular, Le Tu Chinh bagged the gold medal in the 200m event with a time of 23.94 sec, just 0.74 sec short of the A standard of the Olympic Rio 2016 at 23.20 sec.-VNA
