The Saigon Giai phong (Liberated Saigon) daily quotes the provincial authorities as saying that the admission was announced at the PNLG conference held in Bataan city (the Philippines ) on November 21.
Representatives from 25 provinces and cities in 10 East Asian countries including Cambodia , China , South Korea , Laos , Malaysia , Indonesia , the Philippines , Thailand , East Timor and Vietnam attended the event.
Since its launch in 2001, the PNLG has served as an effective forum for exchanging information and practical experiences, skills and management know-how on integrated coastal management (ICM) practices among its members. In particular, study tours and the PNLG annual forum, which members take turns hosting, providing the necessary vehicles for mutual learning and mentoring within the PNLG network./.
