The Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang plans to inject 491 billion VND (23.1 million USD) into upgrading its key transport links to better facilitate the travel and business of residents, according to a local official.

As much as 65 billion VND (3.1 million USD) of the amount will be poured into the nearly 11-km Can Duoc-Cho Gao road linking Tien Giang and the southern province of Long An, and the inter-provincial road 865.

Meanwhile, another 15 billion VND (705,000 USD) in official development assistance (ODA) capital is projected for building bridges across the new roads.

The remaining capital will be used to expand inter-provincial road 867 and bridges on routes 863, 879 and 869.

Director of the provincial Transport Department Nguyen Van Hung said in 2013, Tien Giang poured over 269 billion VND (12.6 million USD) into undertaking 11 transport development projects in the locality.-VNA
