Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has reached the Swiss Open Super Series quarter-finals after defeating England's World number 35 Carl Baxter 2-0 in Basel on March 18.
Despite being down on points early in the match, he found his rhythm and defeated Carl 21-18, 21-13.
In the quarter-finals, Minh will play World No 4, China's Chen Jin; or World No 25, Denmark's Joachim Persson.
Following his victory, Minh will remain 7th in the International Badminton Federation rankings despite having lost to Japan's Tago in the first round of the English Open Super Series 2010./.
