According to Head of Aikawa-Asia business research institute Seiji Aikawa, Vietnam has escaped from being a country of war to becoming an attractivedestination for foreign tourists and investors, including those from Japan,thanks to the renewal process.
In 2006, Vietnam ranked forth among fivecountries with the most attractive investment environment for Japaneseinvestors, after China, India and Thailand. The country surpassed Thailand toclimb to third place in 2007.
Mr. Aikawa, who promoted Vietnam’sbusiness environment to Japanese investors, said the advance is attributable tothe Southeast Asian country’s stable politics, its encouragement policies forforeign investors and its low-priced workforce.
The government’s focuson the improvement of the country’s infrastructure and legal system, adjustingeconomic structure and strengthening human resource training will help Vietnambecome an attractive investment destination for Japanese investors, he said./.
