Tomb of Uncle Ho’s mother upgraded

State President Nguyen Minh Triet, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan joined local leaders to cut the ribbon to inaugurate the work and offer incense in front of the tomb of Hoang Thi Loan.

Located on Dong Tranh Mount in Nam Giang commune, Nam Dan district, the tomb of Hoang Thi Loan was built in 1985 as a national historical and cultural relic, on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s 95 th birth anniversary.

The restoration of the Hoang Thi Loan tomb was one of the important categories of a project to preserve and upgrade the Kim Lien Relics which was approved by the Prime Minister on July 18, 2003.

The inaugural ceremony was one of the events to mark the 121 st birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and 100 years of his overseas departure for national salvation.

Speaking at the event, NA Vice Chairman Phong stressed that Hoang Thi Loan was an example for the great donation and sacrifice for the struggle for national liberation and national independence as well as the happiness of the people.

The Kim Lien Relics, including the tomb of Hoang Thi Loan, is an invaluable heritage of the Vietnamese Party, State and people, she said, adding that the tomb relic was a place where young generations of Vietnamese people and international friends could visit to show deep gratitude to the Sen Village Mother, who deserved credit for giving birth and bringing up President Ho Chi Minh, an eminent figure of the Vietnamese nation.

This is also a chance for people nationwide to commemorate the contributions of Hoang Thi Loan, an outstanding example for Vietnamese women, and better understanding about the life, career, morals and thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as the sound revolutionary guidelines of the Party and State.

On the occasion, State President Nguyen Minh Triet offered flowers and incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument in the Kim Lien Relics./.
