A delegation of high-ranking Vietnamese defence officials paid a working visit to Slovakia from April 8-10 at the invitation of Slovakia ’s Ministry of Defence.
The delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Huy Hieu met with Slovak State Secretary of Defence Daniel Duchon to discuss measures to promote defence cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, the delegation worked with the General Department of Planning and Policy and the General Department of Logistics under Slovakia ’s Ministry of Defence. They also visited the Institute of Techniques and Military Testing and a battalion involved in mine clearance in the country.
The visit was said to be fruitful, helping beef up the ties of friendship between the two armies in general and between their logistics sectors in particular.
In addition, the visit has opened up the possibility for the two countries to cooperate in the field of mine clearance and healing of the wounds of war./.
