Seoul (VNA) – Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yang Sung-tae held talks in Seoul on December 12 to discuss orientations to bilateral ties in the near future.
Binh, who is visiting the RoK from December 12-17, thanked the government, people, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Supreme Court of the RoK for working closely with the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam (SPCV) over the past decade, as well as effectively assisting the Vietnam Court Academy (VCA) in improving the capacity of its staff through a two-phase project worth nearly 13 million USD in official development assistance.
He hailed the project as one of the most effective technical assistance projects conducted by the SPCV, adding that the Vietnamese Party and State consider the VCA a symbol of successful partnership between the two countries’ court sectors.
Yang, for his part, expressed his honour for the RoK’s contributions to the development of Vietnam’s court sector and hoped that the bilateral partnership will be not only about infrastructure but also extend to more practical fields.
The same day, the Vietnamese delegation held a meeting with Minister of National Court Administration Ko Young-han and visited several units of the Supreme Court of the RoK.
During the stay, they will also visit the Foreign Ministry, KOICA and several Korean localities./.
