Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lt. Gen. Pham Hong Huong welcomed a delegation of the Directorate of Signals of Myanmar army in Hanoi on May 30.

Lt. Gen. Pham Hong Huong underlined the importance of communication to the armed forces’ operation and affirmed that Vietnam intends to promote international cooperation in the field.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff appreciated the collaboration between the armies of Vietnam and Myanmar in the past time on the basis of the agreement on defence cooperation signed in 2011. The two sides have exchanged delegations, supported each other at multi-lateral forums and helped each other in language training.

Head of the Myanmar delegation, Director of the Directorate of Signals Maj. Gen. Thaw Lwin expressed his hope that the armies of the two countries will strengthen their partnership, particularly in the field of military communication.-VNA
