Tourism week kicks off in Dak Nong province

A culture and tourism week is underway in the Central Highland province of Dak Nong as part of the 2014 National Tourism Year.
A culture and tourism week is underway in the Central Highlandprovince of Dak Nong as part of the 2014 National Tourism Year.

Opened on July 23, the event provides a good chance for visitors todiscover the M’Nong plateau with beautiful waterfalls as well as naturereserves and historical relics.

Visitors will alsobe given an insight into the cultural identities of 40 ethnic groups inthe province via the restoration of their traditional festivals.

A workshop on developing tourism products in the region also shapes part of the event, which will last until July 27.

Located in the southern part of the Central Highlands, Dak Nong boastsgreat potential for tourism development, with temperate climate andbeautiful landscapes.

It is also home to thecultural space of Central Highlands gong, which was recognized byUNESCO in 2005 as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible CulturalHeritage of Humanity.-VNA

The centerpiece exhibition features more than 100 documents, materials and photos, some made public for the first time. Vietnamese sports delegation leaves for ASIAD 20 in Japan

The Vietnamese delegation comprises 496 members, including athletes, coaches, experts, officials, doctors and medical staff. The teams will depart in several groups depending on their competition schedules, with the largest group expected to leave on September 16. The squad has set a target of winning at least four gold medals at ASIAD 20.
