Tourists to Quang Ninh rise during holidays
The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh welcomed 625,400 tourists during the five-day holidays of National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day, which lasted from April 27, up 18 percent year-on-year.

According to the provincial Department of Tourism, Ha Long Bay is the most attraction, welcoming about 100,952 holidaymakers during the holidays, 20 percent higher than that of the same period last year.
The number of international visitors entering Quang Ninh through the Mong Cai international border gate reached 18,905, while Van Don international airport receiving 14 flights with 2,473 passengers.
Quang Ninh’s tourism sector has made breakthroughs due to significant improvements in infrastructure development. Visitors now can easily access the province by various means of transportation: by sea, road, and airway.
A series of modern infrastructure projects recently were put into operation, including Ha Long-Hai Phong Expressway, Bach Dang Bridge, Van Don international airport, Ha Long International Cruise Port, and Ha Long-Van Don highway.
Travel firms operating in Quang Ninh have paid attention to improving the quality of tourism services, with the aim of luring more tourists to the locality.
Quang Ninh is endowed with natural advantages for sea and island tourism. It is home to the Ha Long and Bai Tu Long Bays, the Ha Long Bay National Park and some islands, the best known of which are Co To and Van Don.
In particular, Ha Long Bay has been twice recognised as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, pulling in visitors to Quang Ninh.
In 2018, the province hosted the National Tourism Year under the theme “Ha Long – Heritage, Wonder, Friendly Destination”. It welcomed a record of over 12 million tourists, up 24 percent year-on-year. - VNA
