Hanoi (VNA) – Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) sold 7,274 automobiles in October, down 19 percent over the same period last year, the firm has reported.

The sales of its domestically assembled cars reached 2,637 units, accounting for 37 percent of the total sales. Meanwhile, the sales of imported models totaled 4,439 units.

Among Toyota’s products, Corolla Cross and Vios continued to be among the top 10 best-selling models in the market with the sales of 2,402 and 1,746 vehicles, respectively.

The sales of Lexus luxury model reached 198 units nationwide in the month. Since the model was introduced in Vietnam, its sales has totaled than 8,500 units.

In Jan-October, TMV still led the passenger car segment with the total sales of 46,146 units (including Lexus cars).

To stimulate its sales, Toyota Vietnam and its dealer network have launched a preferential programme presenting 40 million VND for each of customers who sign contracts and pay fully when buying Vios, Fortuner, Innova, Rush and Corolla Altis models from now until November 30./.
