Vietnam’s pangasius fish will likely to be shipped to Russia once more in April, thanks to the efforts of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

The association said Russia has agreed to remove its ban on tra fish exported by Vietnamese enterprises, which was imposed on January 31.

The ban came after an inspection team from Russia visited eight tra fish processing plants in Vietnam and found some of them falling short of anti-bacteria requirements.

The situation resulted from the failure of small exporters in farming, processing and exporting.

Last year, Vietnam earned more than 100 million USD from aquatic exports to Russia, making up 1.5 percent of the country’s total seafood export value.-VNA
