Tra Que named among world’s best tourism villages in 2024

Tra Que vegetable village, located in the central province of Quang Nam, has been named Vietnam's sole representative on the United Nations World Tourism Organisation's 2024 list of the world’s 55 best tourism villages.

Founded in the 16th century, Tra Que is just 3km from the historic Hoi An ancient town and 20km from the vibrant central city of Da Nang.

Nestled between the tranquil Co Co River and Tra Que Lagoon, the village benefits from fertile sandy soil and a temperate climate - perfect for organic vegetable farming.

Once a patchwork of homes and gardens with uneven fields and irrigation ponds, Tra Que now spans 18 hectares, home to 202 households and 326 farmers who grow over 20 types of vegetables.

Each day, thousands of visitors come to the village, eager to explore its scenic beauty and participate in hands-on farming activities.

In April 2022, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism recognized Tra Que's vegetable farming as national intangible cultural heritage./.
