As many as 212 traffic accidents occurred nationwide during the holiday from April 28- May 2, killing 132 people and injuring 152 others.

Three people went missing in waterway accidents, according to the National Traffic Safety Committee.

On May 2 alone, the country reported 49 accidents, leaving 41 dead and 43 injured.

During the six-day period, the police handled 46,520 violations of traffic law, detaining 167 cars and 5,917 motorbikes.

Last year, the country recorded 224 traffic accidents during the national holiday from April 30 to May 4, claiming 117 lives and injuring 151 people.-VNA
