Transnational drug ring uncovered
Three Thai citizens and one Lao person were arrested on May 12 in the
Xayxany district of Vientiane, the capital of Laos, while illegally
trading and transporting drugs, the Border Guard of central Ha Tinh
province has revealed.

They are part of the ring that has regularly conducted illegal trade and transport of drugs from Thailand to Laos and then to Vietnam through Cau Treo border gate in Ha Tinh province for sale.
At the scene, forces detected and confiscated 48 cakes of heroin (a cake is equivalent to 350 grams) and an automobile with Lao registration, said Senior Lieutenant Colonel Vo Trong Hai, head of the border forces.
The case is being investigated by forces from Laos and Vietnam.-VNA
