Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang on February 11 attended the opening ceremony of the 2014 Singapore Airshow, one of the biggest and most important aerospace and defence exhibitions in Asia and the world.

Minister Thang also witnessed the signing of memoranda of understanding between Vietnamese firm Aerospace Engineering Services JSC, who is joining the exhibition for the fist time, and Mil-Com Aerospace Group of Singapore and Eagle Flight Training of New Zealand.

The six-day event also saw the participation of defence and aviation officials from many countries.

Participants at the biennial exhibition, held at Changi Exhibition Centre, had a chance to enjoy world-class flying displays of fighting jets from different countries, including Singapore , the US , the Republic of Korea and Australia .

Visitors can also contemplate the world’s most modern civil airplanes of Boeing Dreamliner 787 and Airbus A350 XWB.

With 40,000 cubic metres of indoor area and more than 100,000 cubic metres outdoor area, the exhibition will stay opened for those who are interested in airplanes, defence aviation equipment and flying displays of various fleets.-VNA
