Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised international travel agencies to think about the organisation of tours to Algeria and Sri Lanka due to safety reason.

In its document No.535/TCDL-LH, the VNAT warned that recent protests and strikes that consecutively hit almost all cities in Algeria may lead to dire consequences, and conflicts in a worse-case scenario.

Travel companies should keep a close watch on local authorities’ warning, and get updated on political situation in Algeria to well prepare for their tours and ensure safety for their customers.

The firms can seek help from the Embassy of Vietnam in Algeria through the hotline +2130559434580 or the citizen protection hotline +84 981 848484 in case of emergency.

Following the series of deadly bombings in Sri Lanka on April 21 that killed nearly 360 people and injured over 500 others, VNAT recommended travel companies to revise their tours to the country this time so to ensure safety and security for their customers.

Travel agencies should recommend their customers to avoid crowded and sensitive areas and keep themselves up to any warning issued by local agencies while traveling to the country this time, VNAT said in its document No.547/TCDL-LH.-VNA
