Hanoi welcomed 270,000 domestic tourists and 70,083 foreign tourists
during the nine-day lunar New Year holiday (February 15-23), up 8
percent from the same period last year.
Tourism destinations in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue,
southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and the Mekong Delta Hau Giang
province received a large number of local and foreign visitors during
the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, Vietnam’s most significant annual
holiday.
Over 15,000 holiday-makers visited the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park
in the central province of Quang Binh during the first five days of the
Year of the Goat (February 19-23), up over 10 percent against the
same period last year.
Nearly 5,500 domestic and foreign holiday-makers made visits to Dong Van
Karst Plateau Geo-Park in the northern province of Ha Giang during the
nine-day lunar New Year (Tet) festival, generating over 5.5 billion VND
(235,000 USD) for the tourism sector.
Hundreds of thousands of local and international tourists flocked to
renowned tourism sites across the country during the Lunar New Year
(Tet) holiday, which fell on February 19.
Provinces have given high estimation to travel companies’ contributions
to local socio-economic development by making Xong Day “first-footing”
visits to some of them on February 19, the first day of the Lunar New
Year.
Over 75,000 tourists, including 40,000 foreigners, have booked tours to
the central province of Thua Thien- Hue during the traditional
Vietnamese New Year holiday, according to the provincial Department of
Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Tourists to the Mekong Delta province of An Giang now can enjoy the
scenery of Mount Cam more easily as a cable car service launched on
February 14 will carry them to the peak in just eight minutes.
The famous website Thrillist has listed Ho Coc Beach in Vietnam’s
southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau among the 12 most
unbelievably cheap paradises on earth.
For the first time, Vietnamese tourism agencies are displaying their
products at an international tourism fair in Tehran, Iran, which
commenced on February 12.
Local and foreign visitors have a variety of domestic tour options
during the upcoming lunar New Year holiday (Tet), which will last from
