The island district of Truong Sa (Spratly) off the central province of Khanh Hoa has become the first district in Vietnam to go green in the use of energy.
The achievement was attributed largely to the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam)’s 438 billion VND (22 million USD) project, which was launched in 2008.
The project has helped install a system of facilities to produce a stable resource of renewables, mainly wind power and solar energy, to serve the lighting system, daily activities and production in the district round the clock./.
