The sixth Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2013 will include a range of activities towards Truong Sa island district in particular, and homeland’s sea and islands in general.

An official from the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the host central province of Khanh Hoa revealed the information at the meeting of the Festival steering committee on May 16.

The festival will be opened with the Vietnamese Sea and Island Week held by the Nha Trang city People’s Committee, followed by a festival for youngsters involved in popularising the country’s sovereignty over sea and islands by the Khanh Hoa provincial chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

In addition, photo exhibitions on Truong Sa and sea cultural heritages will also open to the public.

During the festival, there will be a ceremony to present awards to the winning songs and news articles on Truong Sa and the homeland’s sea and islands at the contest launched last April.

The biennial festival was first held in 2003 in the beautiful coastal city of Nha Trang of Khanh Hoa.-VNA
