Turkey's Prime Minister visits Malaysia

Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kuala Lumpur on January 9, beginning his two-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, Bernama has reported.
Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Kuala Lumpur on January 9, beginning his two-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, Bernama has reported.

As scheduled, PMs Erdogan and Najib will hold talks on January 10 before leading their respective delegation to a bilateral meeting.

They are expected to discuss ways to strengthen dialogue and cooperation politics, trade and investment, tourism, education and defence, amongst others, and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The Turkish PM is also scheduled to deliver a lecture on "Transforming Asia Pacific and Turkey" as part of the Tun Abdul Razak lecture series, organised by the Transformation Research Foundation and Razak School of Government.

PM Erdogan is to receive an honorary doctorate in management from the International Islamic University, Malaysia.

According to the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit, which is also in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-Turkey relations, is part of PM Erdogan's tour to Asia, which also includes Japan and Singapore.-VNA
