Tuyen Quang (VNA) – The northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang will disburse 2 billion VND (88,000 USD) to move 95 households living in landslide-prone areas to safe places before the rainy season comes.

The relocation of the households aims to minimise damages caused by natural disasters and contribute to the province’s efforts to reduce poverty, protect the environment and ensure security and defence.

The resettled families include 13 households in Lam Binh district, 20 in Na Hang district, 21 in Chiem Hoa district, 16 in Ham Yen district, 13 in Yen Son district, 7 in Son Duong district and 5 in Tuyen Quang city.

A total of 18 households in Lam Binh, Ham Yen, Yen Son and Na Hang have been relocated to date.

The province requested the city and districts to review and determine the levels of financial support for households to be evacuated and provide them new jobs to soon return to normal life.-VNA
