Twelve collectives and 12 individuals have been awarded with certificates of merit for their brilliant achievements in developing and implementing the ‘twinning’ model between Kinh and minority women.

The twinning model has made considerable contributions to the socio-economic stability and security in Highlands provinces over the past years, a conference held in Kon Tum province on August 18 by the Central Vietnamese Women’s Union said.

Through the model, over 8,000 ethnic minority women have been loaned tens of billions of VND interest-free, and thousands of minority women’s households have escaped from poverty.

As many as 1,300 Kinh women’s union branches have twinned with 966 ethnic minority women’s union branches so far.

Additionally, over 11,000 households of Kinh women have twinning ties with over 8,000 households of minority women./.
