The securities market continues booming as indexes for the country’s two bourses surged high in this week’s final trading session on July 24 with demand exceeding supply.

Almost all shares, 164 out of 166, on the Ho Chi Minh city-based Stock Exchange hit their ceiling prices and sold out, leaving many buyers out in the cold.

In the end, the VN-Index jumped up by 20.51 points to a close of 454.71, a gain of 4.72 percent.

A total of 26.11 million shares changed hands at a value of 944.34 billion VND (53 million USD), up 5 percent in volume and 8 percent in value.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index on July 24 also rallied by 7.07 points, or 4.79 percent, to close at 154.62.

The volume on the northern bourse dipped slightly to 18 million shares worth a total of 569.53 billion VND (32 million USD).

On the Unlisted Public Companies Market, the UPCoM-Index on July 24 also enjoyed an increase of 2.07 points, or 2.83 percent, to reach 75.17 points.

Nearly 942,300 shares, worth 13.1 billion VND (736,000 USD), changed hands./.
