Bangkok (VNA) – Two serious fires were reported in Thailand on January 17.
The first broke out at around 7:00 at an electric vehicle (EV) research and development facility in Sa Si Mum commune, Kamphaeng Saen district, Nakhon Pathom province. The blaze is believed to have been caused by an exploding solar panel. The fire completely destroyed the facility along with a large amount of materials and equipment. No casualties were reported.
Later, at around 13:00 on the same day, a large fire erupted at an oil storage tank in Khlong Sam Prawet ward, Lat Krabang district, Bangkok. Local fire and rescue forces were quickly deployed to the scene and used fire-extinguishing foam to bring the blaze under control.
The fire affected several palm oil storage tanks. There has been no information so far regarding casualties, while an investigation is underway to find out the cause of the incident and further details./.
