Situated at approximately 65 kilometers to the Southwest from Rach Gia, U Minh Thuong National Park is one of the three areas recognised the world’s biosphere reserve by UNESCO in Kien Giang Province.

The three places boast unique biodiversity characteristics and views with U Minh Thuong National Park being one of the last remaining wetlands in the Mekong Delta. Formed and gathered in the West side of Ca Mau Peninsula, contiguous with the range of mangrove forest along the Gulf of Thailand, U Minh Thuong is a specific type of alum waterlogged forest in Vietnam, and even recognize into the list of unique and rare type on the world.

U Minh Thuong National Park also has historical values because the area was used as a military base by resistance forces during the First and Second Indochina Wars./.
