The Dubai-based Global Education Management Systems Limited, or GEMS Education, said that the company is seeking opportunities to expand its business to emerging markets, including Vietnam, in 2015.
According to Dino Varkey, Managing Director of GEMS Education, the expansion plan comes after a group of investors – Fajr Capital from Dubai, Blackstone from the United States and Mumtalakat from Bahrain – acquired a stake in the company last year.
The company has a strong presence in the UAE with a chain of 12 schools besides education establishments in Qatar, Egypt, Kenya, the US, Switzerland, Uganda and India.
The company opened its first school in Singapore last September and plan to open the first school in Malaysia this September.-VNA
