UEFA Champions League trophy comes to Vietnam

The UEFA Champions League trophy and Dutch football star Ruud Van Nistelrooy on April 3 arrived in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time in a campaign entitled “Road to the Final” hosted by Heineken.

Vietnamese football lovers will have a chance to experience the cupand join exchange programmes with the former Manchester United and RealMadrid striker in HCM City from April 4-5 and in Hanoi on April6.

They can also enjoy an exhibition on thehistory of the UEFA Champions League – one of the world’s mostprestigious competitions for top football clubs.

Asmany as 10 free tickets to watch the final of the UEFA Champions League2014 in Lisbon , Portugal will also be up for grabs, along with 14tickets for a leading world music and football festival this May inIbiza , Spain .

Vietnam is the only Asian destination on the trophy’s tour around the world.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy is the most successful player in the history ofthe UEFA Champions League. He was the Champions League top scorer in2002, 2003 and 2005 with 60 goals in 81 matches.

According to Heineken, UEFA Ambassador and former Arsenal star Robert Pires will also be in Vietnam on the occasion.-VNA
