The UK’s Westminster Kingsway College (WKC) will support the Kien Giang Vocational College (KVC) of Vietnam in implementing a project to improve e mployability skills for its teachers and students.

The two schools reached the agreement during a recent fact-funding tour to the UK by a KVC delegation led by Rector Nhan Thanh Liem.

The project also aims to introduce vocational training schools in Vietnam that can lead to job opportunities with international partners, thus promoting mutual understanding and trust between the two countries.

Seungeun Chang, who is in charge of international activities of the WKC, affirmed that her school attaches importance to developing ties with Vietnamese partners.

Ambassador to the UK Vu Quang Minh praised the practicality of the project, saying that it will help Vietnam’s vocational schools build training programmes that meet the demands of recruiters and help students find good jobs after graduation.

He expressed his hope that the UK will continue supporting Vietnam in the coming time through other cultural and educational cooperation projects.

This is the second vocational training project of the WKC in Vietnam. In June 2013, the school also teamed up with Vinh Industry College in the central province of Nghe An to implement a similar programme.-VNA
