An exchange programme called “Mai Am Viet” (Vietnam’s Home), the 3rd of this version, held in London on December 28, marked the successful community-bonding efforts in 2014 by the Vietnamese Association in the UK.

Luong Son Thanh, President of the Association, said the programme received significant contributions from the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, local restaurants and businesses under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy.

The introduction of Vietnamese cultural practices, like the Mid-Autumn festival for children, and signature cuisines from various regions at the gatherings over the past three years, drew the participation and interests of overseas Vietnamese across the UK.

A periodical gathering of the Vietnamese community is hoped to be held, as is the building of a Vietnamese culture centre in London, according to Thanh.-VNA
