United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has voiced his concern about the escalating tensions in the East Sea between China and Vietnam in the last few days.

The information was released by his Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq during a noon-briefing at the UN Headquarters in New York on May 9.

"He urges the parties concerned to exercise the utmost restraint and resolve their dispute in a peaceful manner, through dialogue and in conformity with international law, including the UN Charter," Farhan Haq said.-VNA
