HCM City (VNA) – UN peacekeeping forces trust the enthusiasm and responsibility of Vietnamese peacekeeping forces, especially through the deeds of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Military Hospital 175.

The statement was made by Selway Bianca, a senior expert of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Field Support, who led a UN Assessment and Advisory Visit delegation to Military Hospital 175 on June 29.   

The delegation stands ready to share experience in running second-level field hospitals with Vietnam to help country meet the requirements of peacekeeping work. 

On the occasion, the UN delegation examined the second-level hospital of Military Hospital 175. 

Since officially joining UN peacekeeping activities in 2014, Vietnam has sent 12 officers to operations in South Sudan and Central African Republic.

The country has also dispatched 83 officials to short-term training courses at the invitation of the UN and as part of regional and international cooperation.

The nation is also training female soldiers to serve UN peacekeeping missions.-VNA
