Uncle Ho’s 120th birthday celebrated in RoK

A solemn meeting was held at the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on May 15 to celebrate the 120 th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

The meeting was also to mark 20 years of UNESCO recognition of Uncle Ho as a national liberation hero and a cultural celebrity.

Ambassador Tran Trong Toan highlighted the role and the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh in each revolutionary period of Vietnam, which led to the victory of the country in its struggle for liberation.

“President Ho Chi Minh has left a great cause to the nation and an invaluable spiritual legacy. Ho Chi Minh Thought, a system of comprehensive viewpoints on the fundamentals of the Vietnamese revolution, has been upheld during the country’s renewal process and industrialisation and modernisation,” he said.

A representative of the Vietnam Students’ Association in the RoK delivered a speech, expressing respect for their forefathers, who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.

The meeting ended with music performance with songs praising the Party, Uncle Ho and the homeland of Vietnam./.
