Buenos Aires (VNA) – President Ho Chi Minh’s testament about the great national solidarity is seen as enormous intrinsic strength for Vietnam's struggles for national independence in the past, and national construction and development nowadays, Brazilian historian Pedro Da Oliveira has said.
In a recent interview with the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the implementation of Uncle Ho’s testament, Da Oliveira, who is also the General Secretary of the Brazil-Vietnam Friendship Association, held that the Vietnamese leader was a political and military genius, a great cultural figure, and a talented forecaster.
President Ho Chi Minh affirmed that the Vietnamese people would gain independence, and freedom to build a peaceful, unified and strong nation, and his forecast turned out to be true, the Brazilian historian elaborated.
History showed that under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people united against formidable foes, and overcame immense hardship to achieve independence.
He said he has been impressed by the socio-economic achievements that Vietnam has carved out, adding they are in accordance with the President’s wish for a country of peace, unity, independence, democracy and prosperity that could contribute to the world’s revolutionary cause.
He attributed the achievements to the Vietnamese people’s efforts to overcome challenges to recover from wars, and carry out the Doi moi (renewal) in 1986.
Da Oliveira also held that President Ho Chi Minh made great contributions to the international communist movement, and his ideology remains valuable till today./.
