Over the years, people in Pu Chu Phi village have used solar power and batteries for lighting. However, in such a poor village, only a few households can afford this equipment. What the locals are longing for is a connection to the national power grid.

Tua Sin Chai is among the most remote and neediest communes in Sin Ho District. There are 9 villages that are not connected to the national power grid in the locality. Here, the rough terrain and scattered distribution of households make it difficult to connect to the grid. The shortage of power negatively impacts local efforts to reduce poverty and alleviate hunger.

With no television or modern electrical equipment, local people use radios powered by batteries. Needy people in the locality are longing to be connected to the national power grid to improve their lives and spur the local economy./.
