Within the framework of the seventh Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, Dak Lak province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism introduced a unique gong casting performances to promote local gong culture.
Artisans from the 400 year-old Phuoc Kieu gong casting village in Quang Nam province were invited to perform at the festival.
Gong casting involves 10 basic steps, including making the inside and outside moulds from clay and heavy soil, and boiling alloys and casting it into the moulds, among others.
Besides gong casting, the event also featured an array of art performances that drew the interest of both local people and visitors.-VNA
