The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) within the bilateral framework and before the upcoming East Asia Summit in Indonesia in mid-November.
Lieut. Gen. Vinh hailed the US Assistant Secretary of State’s visit to Vietnam and the results of cooperation in defence between Vietnam and the US .
Lieut. Gen. Vinh affirmed Vietnam’s standpoint on supporting nonproliferation of WMD and said the initiative to combat proliferation was a noble ideal aimed at bringing peace and benefiting Vietnam and Vietnam-US relations./.
