The US Embassy will hold a series of ten education-related events that are free and open to the public in the capital city of Hanoi from November 15-20 to mark the 11 th annual International Education Week (IEW).

The events will include documentary film showing and presentations on the US government’s scholarship programmes as well as on living and studying in the US .

All of these events will be held at the American Centre, located at 1F Rose Garden Tower , 170 Ngoc Khanh Street , Ba Dinh district.

IEW, a joint initiative of the US Department of State and the US Department of Education, is held in the third week of November each year to celebrate the benefits of international education exchange.

Each year more than 600,000 international students, including over 13,000 from Vietnam , choose to study in the US , said US Ambassador to Vietnam Michael W. Michalak.

Since 1995, the US government has provided nearly 1,000 degree and non-degree scholarships in Vietnam , totalling more than 75 million USD, he added./.
