US enhances cooperation in education with Vietnam

The USbelieves it will make have positive contributions to the development ofVietnam ’s education, he said at a press briefing in Hanoi on April7.

He informed that this was the first time that the USDepartment of Commerce led a mission with representatives from 56universities, colleges and English-language institutes to a number ofcountries and Vietnam was the mission’s second stop.

Sanchez said he believed that the education mission will open up morecooperation between both countries’ educational institutions and moreand more Vietnamese people will study in the US .

Sanchez’svisit, which coincides with the 15 th anniversary of establishment ofthe US Trade Office in Vietnam , affirms the importance of bilateralrelations.

The mission is scheduled to have working sessions withkey officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry ofTransport, the Ministry of Information and Communications in order toboost trade exchange between the two countries, especially inintellectual property.

Sanchez encouraged Vietnamese companies totake part in meetings on small- and medium-sized enterprises within theframework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forumscheduled for Big Sky, Montana from May 13-21.

During thevisit, the US Trade Office coordinates with the International Instituteon Education (IIE) to organise education fairs in Ho Chi Minh City onApril 6 and in Hanoi on April 8./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Shift to data-driven administrative procedures needs acceleration

Under a draft decree replacing Decree 63, authorities will have to proactively pull information from databases and records for informational or technical procedures.
