Vietnam will be one of Microsoft’s key destinations in the future, the company’s executive board told Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Cuong their working session at Microsoft headquarters early this week.

Microsoft officials pledged to continue assisting Vietnam, particularly in high-tech human resources development.

They highly valued the Vietnamese Government’s commitments in Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement negotiations.

As part of Cuong’s working visit to Washington State on August 19-20, he visited the aircraft manufacturing plant in Everett, Washington. A Boeing representative said the handover of its first Boeing 787 to Vietnam Airlines will take place in 2015.

Boeing hopes the event would contribute to promoting the establishment of the first direct Vietnam Airlines’ route between the US and Vietnam, the representative added.
Ambassador Cuong also met with Carrix leaders at the headquarters to learn about its investment in seaports in Vietnam.

During his visit to the state, the diplomat talked with representatives of the Washington State Governor’s office about potential for economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the state.
