US laws introduced in HCM City

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organized a seminar on US laws in Ho Chi Minh City on July 10 in a bid to help local companies enhance their capacity in doing business in the US.

Director of the VCCI Ho Chi Minh City chapter Vo Tan Thanh stressedthat a thorough understanding of US laws is the prerequisite for thosewho want to reap success in this large market.

Sharing thisopinion, head of the Trade Promotion Office in San Francisco Hoang KimSon advised domestic enterprises to consider getting professionalconsultation in this field. He also recommended them to utilize the helpfrom Vietnamese trade agencies in finding partners and businessopportunities in the US.

Experts agreed that Vietnamesefirms are in a good position to boost investment and trade in the USmarket, which is now the leading trading partner and one of the top teninvestors of Vietnam.

The two countries are alsoparticipating in negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal,which is expected to further boost bilateral trade.

On theoccasion, the VCCI announced its plans to arrange a market study tour tothe US and Canada and a trip to Japan to attend the 2014 Cosme Tokyointernational exhibition, both in October.-VNA

Vietnam targets 50 million international visitors by 2030

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has outlined three scenarios for 2027–2030. Under the high-growth scenario, international arrivals would rise 15–18 percent annually to reach 45–50 million, while domestic tourism would reach around 160 million trips.
