On the afternoon of September 5, 2022, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the US President's Special Envoy for Climate John Kerry, who came to visit Vietnam.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam is making efforts to promote green growth and responds to climate change to implement its commitments at COP26.

Vietnam considers the goal of achieving "zero" net emissions and switching from fossil energy to clean and renewable energy are inevitable development trends.

The Prime Minister also affirmed that climate change is a global problem, requiring a global solution, taking the people as the center. He emphasized the need for energy conversion to ensure the principle of equity.

For his part, Special Envoy John Kerry affirmed that the US will continue to strengthen cooperation and support for developing countries, including Vietnam, to respond to climate change, especially energy development and clean, sustainable infrastructure, smart water management, and resources in the ecosystem./.
