Bangkok (VNA) – The United States has removed Thailand from its human trafficking blacklist, according to the Thai Foreign Ministry’s press release on June 30.

In the US annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report, Thailand was upgraded to Tier 2 from Tier 3 in the four-tier grading system.

The Thai Foreign Ministry hailed the US’s action as it recognises Thailand’s significant efforts in tackling the heinous and complicated human trafficking issue.

The move reflects partnership relations between Thailand and the US with sound cooperation in multifaceted spheres, including human trafficking victim protection and law enforcement.
